A garden party was held on the landside lawn (then) with CX staff distributing beverages.  A selection of multi national CX flight attendents displayed their relative national costumes.

The CX PR team was out in force with a suitably inscribed hot air balloon positioned at the north end of the domestic terminal in full view of the 747.
